Review: HydrodermHydroderm is a collagen delivery crème or serum-style of beauty product that promotes itself as a facial wrinkle-reducer. The claim is that an amount of marine collagen is absorbed into the upper layer of skin so that the appearance of wrinkles is reduced. Hydroderm with headquarters in California is the parent-company that manufacturers the Hydroderm product-line. According to the amount of Better Business Bureau complaints on file, it is suggested that users do their homework before deciding to try these wrinkle-reducing crèmes or serum-style beauty products. While some users are crowing about the beneficial effects of these products, others are having severe troubles with credit-card over-billings, claims of free trials that are not free, and unsightly skin burns, rashes, and facial blistering. Hydroderm is touted as the crème or serum-style wrinkle reducer that is better than Botox. This claim is hard to believe since a single injection of Botox can temporarily smooth wrinkle lines by paralyzing the appropriate muscles for up to 9-months, while Hydroderm products must be used daily for lesser results to show. The Hydroderm product appears to function by plumping or swelling the skin to remove the wrinkle. In a 2007 lawsuit, the Hydroderm Company LLC., sued television Desperate Housewife star Teri Hatcher for violating her agreement to endorse their products exclusively. Within this lawsuit, Hatcher claims that Hydroderm went through more than one ownership change and management change “recently” and that it was impossible for her to follow through on her contract due to their internal problems. Perhaps the internal problems are continuing for Hydroderm, and this is the reason for their product-line popularity with the Better Business Bureau. Hydroderm did eventually apologize to Teri Hatcher for filing the multimillion dollar lawsuit against her in error. There is another collagen based wrinkle remover on the market that is not quite as controversial as Hydroderm. Brand: Elemis seems to be getting good reviews. Author: K.
