The Botox formula is being advertised today as facial shots that are a cure-all for facial wrinkles. Botox was originally developed as an eye-twitch remedy that works by relaxing muscles around the eye area for a period of time between 2-weeks and 9-months depending upon the body type that is using this medication. Muscular body types often have troubles getting any long-term relief from this product because of their muscle density refusing to relax after safe-levels of this toxin are administered.

Today, Botox is used to reduce forehead wrinkles, laugh-lines, and age related lines on the face. While some of these alternatives to Botox act in the same manner as Botox, others do not. Since Botox works through stopping the use of muscles, and the heart being a muscle, it is never recommended that you try an imitation Botox of any kind that has not been specifically approved by the United States FDA.
